The University of Virginia has begun the process of disenrolling students who did not meet the school’s vaccination policy which was announced on May 20, 2021, in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic with infections on the rise across the United States.
238 students have been cut from the enrollment rolls after they failed to comply with the university’s vaccination policy according to a report confirmed to ABC News by the school officials.
“We first announced this vaccination requirement on May 20 and the deadline for compliance was July 1,” Brian Coy, a spokesman for the university, told ABC News in an email.
According to the COVID tracking chart produced by the New York Times, the state of Virginia has a seven-day average of 2, 322 cases of new infections. That is an average of 332 new cases per day. You can read the rest of the ABC news story here.
